Jewish Dances, Polish Weddings
The history of Jewish settlement on Polish territory has already more than 1,000 years. Cultural exchange between Jews and Poles took place at that time. Its traces can be found in the music of both nations . Klezmers, who played for Polish auditory at Polish weddings and in taverns, included Slavic motifs to their repertoire. Polish musicians drew inspiration from Jewish music for their performances. Witek Broda , along with his band, will present pieces of Jewish music or those referred to it, which come in part from the nineteenth - century collection of Oskar Kolberg, and in part from recordings made by him during field researches carried out among the Polish rural musicians.
