Dmitry Schelkin

musician

Graduated from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory. He also attended courses given by Jeff Berr. He is permanent musician at the Studio for New Music Ensemble and Pekarsky Percussion Ensemble. His regular work there and with various other ensembles such as Pratum Integrum, The Pocket Symphony, Musica Viva has given him an ideal forum to focus on experimentation, augmentation and development of his diverse musical ideas. Dmitry is frequent guest in different festivals in Russia, Latvia, Czech Republic, Spain, Belgium, The Netherlands etc. As soloist and member of ensembles Dmitry had performed at lot of premieres by Russian composers. He also tries himself in composition and even won prize at the 4th Jurgenson International Competition for Young Composers (2007).
