    Why the Israeli writer received a Russian literary prize

    JUDAS by AMOS OZ has been named winner of the Yasnaya Polyana Foreign Fiction Award. Amos Oz is coming to Moscow to receive the award and to present the awarded book, which was published in Russian by Phantom Press Publishers in translation by Viktor Radutsky.

    Amos Oz will give one public lecture in Russia which is scheduled for 7 p.m. on October, 25. The event will take place at DOM Cultural Center (24 Bolshoy Ovchinnikovsky, building 4) in partnership with Eshkolot Project and with support from Genesis Philanthropy Group.

    Amos Oz on the lecture:

    The title of the lecture is "Jesus and Judas", and I will speak about the long and complicated saga of Jews and Christians, but also about the birth of the novel Judas and about Hebrew literature. After the lecture I will

    hopefully still have enough energy to answer 3-4 questions from the audience but the moderator should tell the audience that I prefer literary, not political questions at this literary evening. I will give my lecture in English, assuming that at least some of the audience can follow, and the others will benefit from a Russian interpretation.
