PhD in Geography, senior research fellow at the Institute of Geography (Russian Academy of Sciences), author of more than 300 scientific and journalistic publications, including the book «Cultural Landscape and the Soviet Living Space» (2001).

Principle research areas: theoretical geography, zoning theory, limology, hermeneutics of landscape and post-Soviet cultural studies.
